Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 2026

Provena Consortium (“Provena,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates provenaconsortium.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell products on the Site. The information we collect falls into two groups.

  • Information you choose to send us. If you email us or contact us directly, we receive the details you include, such as your name, email address, and message.
  • Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect general usage data. This can include pages viewed, time on page, how you arrived at the Site, general location (city or region level), device type, browser type, and operating system.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, such as health, financial, or government ID details, through the Site.

2. How we use Google Analytics

GA4 helps us understand how people use the Site so we can improve its content and performance. GA4 uses cookies and similar technologies to gather this data. We look at the information in combined, statistical form. We do not use it to identify you personally.

We do not use Google Analytics advertising features, and we do not serve ads on the Site. We do not use the data for ad targeting, remarketing, or building advertising profiles.

You can learn how Google handles this data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out of Google Analytics in any browser with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Site uses cookies set by GA4 and basic cookies needed for the Site to function. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you from using the Site.

4. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
  • Understand overall traffic and usage trends
  • Respond to your questions or messages
  • Protect the security of the Site and prevent misuse
  • Meet legal obligations

5. How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share it for advertising purposes. We share information only in these cases:

  • With service providers who help us run the Site, such as our website host and Google Analytics, under their own privacy terms
  • When required by law, subpoena, or other legal process
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Provena, our users, or others
  • As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets

6. Data retention

We keep analytics data only as long as needed for the purposes above. GA4 data is kept according to the retention setting in our Google Analytics account. Messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond and for our normal business records.

7. Your choices and rights

You can limit analytics tracking by blocking cookies, using the opt-out add-on above, or turning on privacy settings in your browser.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for these signals, so the Site does not currently respond to them.

8. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. No website or internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Links to other websites

The Site may link to websites run by others. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies before sharing information with them.

10. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Visitors outside the United States

The Site is operated in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above. Your continued use of the Site means you accept the updated policy.
